Obituary
It is with the great sadness we announce the passing of June Yvonne Albach (Pinder). She was known as
“mom”, “Granny”, “Auntie Yvonne” and Yvonne, a few lovingly called her “Crazy Lady”.
Yvonne was born in Lashburn Saskatchewan on June 6, 1938. She was the youngest of 4 children and
the born to Jack and Alice Pinder and the only girl. She was a figure skater, baton twirler in a marching
band and worked hard on the farm growing up.
She left Lashburn to get her nursing degree in Prince Albert and during this time she met and married
Sid Albach and they moved to Prince Rupert, Richmond, then Kamloops with the RCMP. Once they
decided to have a family, Yvonne happily gave up her nursing career to raise her 2 children, Dean and
Andrea.
After living in Kamloops, the family moved to Fairview AB, then Red Deer AB, Cranbrook BC and back to
Red Deer where Yvonne lived from 1980 to 2018. She became a dental assistant and worked for Dr.
Jeske for many years and then worked as a hostess at the Black Knight Inn until retirement.
Yvonne had a sense of humor and wit like no other, she loved to laugh and was always able to see the
brighter side of life. She was a breast cancer survivor and always appreciated all that was around her.
She loved to swim every morning and on her days off you would find her on the Innisfail golf course.
Her talents were endless, cooking, crocheting, needle point, painting, Swedish weaving and so many
other crafts. Many will have a memory of her gifts she made so many over the years.
She loved meerkats, watching faulty towers, coronation street as well as all the sports on TV from
tennis, golf, hockey, baseball and figure skating.
Yvonne was an amazing mother, grandmother and auntie (great auntie) – there was nothing she would
not do for her family, everyone that loved her knew how much they were loved by her. She lived the
last 4 years of her life in Kelowna BC with her daughter and her family, in a beautiful room that was built
just for her. She enjoyed going to all her grandkids hockey, baseball, soccer games, figure skating
competitions and band performances. She was so proud of all her grandkids.
Yvonne is predeceased by her brothers Fred and Cliff, and her mother and father Jack and Alice Pinder.
She is survived by her son Dean, Daughter Andrea (Keith), her four grandchildren, Will, Ben, Lukas and
Abby, her best friend and sister-in-law Arlene, her oldest brother Art, other family members and some
very special friends…Howard Coolidge and Brenda Olson.
One of her favorite quotes was “Good, Better, Best, Never let it rest, Until good is better and better is
best”.
Special thanks to the palliative care nurses and care aids that helped us take good care of this amazing
lady.
A memorial for Yvonne will be held on a future date.
