Peacefully, in her sleep, on Friday, August 26, 2022, in her one hundred and third year. Beloved wife of the late Abraham Samuels, who passed away in 1977. Daughter of the late Ivy and the late Herbert Kendall. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Diane Wax and Usher Nadler, Sandra and Gary Simioni, Beverley and Andrew Weisz, Marlene and Ron Levine. Cherished grandmother of Sherri Stubina (Jay), Michael Simioni (Rachel), Alison Simioni (Matt Boily); Jeremy and Justin Weisz; Alana and Lindsay Levine. Proud great-grandmother of Ryan and Lauren Stubina; Liam and Brendan Boily. Sister of the late Patricia Kendall.
June, affectionately known as ‘Nan’ to everyone, was independent throughout her life. She worked in the automobile business for many years. She lived in her own condo until she turned one hundred years old. June loved to visit Plattsburgh to shop, especially for all her baking needs. She drove herself with her friend Magda to see her daughter and grandchildren in Pennsylvania. June’s lifelong passion was her love of animals – all G-d’s little creatures. She had numerous dogs throughout her lifetime, and birds – the last being ChiChi. She’d often feed the squirrels on her balcony and throw food over for the birds. Her other passion was baking. She supplied her family with muffins, brownies, lemon squares, and, of course, chocolate-chip cookies. June’s house was adorned with pictures of her family, whom she loved dearly. The family would like to thank June’s caregivers, Belyn, Kristie, Menchie and Arlene, for their care, kindness, and devotion.
Graveside service on Monday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gan Shalom Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva strictly private due to COVID-19. Donations in June’s memory may be made to the SPCA Montreal, (514) 735-2711, ext. 2240.
