Julius Gyula Tóth May 15 1927 – August 31 2022

Julius passed away on August 31, 2022, at Burnaby Hospital at the age of 95. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Helen and his sister Erzsébet Tóth. He is survived by his children: Bernard, Cece (Joe), Vince (Joan); his grandchildren who he was immensely proud of: Mattea, Alex, Mark, Julia, Grace, Madeline; his family in Europe, nieces: Eva Van Stijn (Gerrit), Zsóka Takács (Géza); great-nieces: Emese Van Stijn, Erzsébet Takács, Eva Takács and his close family friend Louise Fry.
Julius was born in Budapest, Hungary on May 15, 1927, to Gyula Tóth and Rozália Molnár. He left Hungary during the Hungarian revolution in 1956, travelled to England where he lived for 9 months before immigrating to Canada in 1957. He met his wife Helen, who was his nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital, and they married in 1959, settling in New Westminster.
Julius loved the outdoors, anything fitness or health related and reading. He dearly loved his family and valued his close friendships. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
The family sincerely thanks his two angels on earth, Mila and Marilou for their care and compassion over the past few years.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in New Westminster on Saturday, September 10 at 10:30am. A reception will be held at 3pm after the interment.

  1. Sad to hear of Jules passing but knowing he’ll be meeting up with his Helen, my beloved aunt, is of some comfort. I will take many fond memories of family gatherings with our gang of children, cousins and friends and remember those times forever. So long uncle Jules.
