Obituary
After a brief illness, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Julia on Sunday, October 9, 2022 just days prior to her 91st birthday.
Left to mourn are Shirley & Larry Gulyas (Calgary), Bev Molinski & Brad Hofer, grandsons Derek Molinski and Jill Hoban, Jeremy Molinski (Courtney, BC), Trevor Gulyas and Tara Giffin (Edmonton, AB) and Kevin Gulyas (Victoria, BC).
Julia was predeceased by her husband John on December 24th, 2001, her mother Hafia, father Stephan, sisters Mary, Natalie and Helen, brothers Joe, Roman and Nester.
Julia was born in Libau, Manitoba and later moved to Winnipeg where she met her husband, John. They were together for 47 years.
Julia lived for her grandchildren and was looking forward to becoming a great-grandmother in just a few weeks. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family. She was an active member of the church and Ladies Auxiliary Julia & John enjoyed many winter vacations in Hawaii. She enjoyed knitting and her nights out at the casino with her friends.
Julia will be sadly missed by all her dear family and friends.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, October 16th, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17th, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. George Orthodox Church, 121 Harvard Avenue East, Transcona with Father Michael Ungrin officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Pallbearers will be Derek & Jeremy Molinski, Larry, Trevor and Kevin Gulyas and Brad Hofer.
