Judy Lynn (Carey) Tompkins age 74 of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon November 23, 2022 at home. Her loving husband and daughter were at her bedside. Judy was born April 14, 1948 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Gordon A. and Geraldine E. Coon Carey. Judy was a graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 1967. She married her husband, Gerald “Jerry” L. Tompkins on March 22, 1969 and they would have celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary on March 22, 2023. In addition to her parents, Judy was also pre-deceased by her son Kevin C. Tompkins on January 14, 1999 and by her brother and sister-in-law William A. and Jan Carey Sr. . Judy loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Judy is survived by her loving and devoted husband Gerald L. Tompkins; daughter and son-in-law: Karen C. and Thomas C. Mosher of Horseheads, NY; three grandchildren: Zachary A. Mosher, Nicholas S. Mosher, and Stephanie A. (Daryl) Matzke; two great grandchildren: Lilyana Amberg-Matzke and Daryl T. Matzke Jr.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Rodney S. and Charlene J. Tompkins; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Honoring Judy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
