Obituary of Judith L. Reid
Reid, Judith Lynn (Nee Dempsey)
Passed after a lengthy illness on Monday March 28, 2022 at the age of 73. Beloved mother of Mike Higgins (Helen) and Barb Higgins. Cherished grandmother of Candace and Amanda Smith. Survived by her siblings Wayne Dempsey of St. Stephen, Nadine McMullin (Brian) of Harvey, Ellen Reid (late George) of St. Stephen, Danny Dempsey (Bonnie) of Fredericton, John Dempsey of Comox BC, Mary Folkins (Burt) of Fredericton, Steven Dempsey (Brenda) of St. Stephen, Patrick Dempsey (Lorna) of Yarmouth NS and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husbands Leslie Higgins (1980) and Keith Reid (2001), her parents Patrick and Alice (nee Dunbar) Dempsey and Brothers Kevin (Brenda) and Brian Dempsey (Connie) of Paris ON. Judy’s life work was her children and grandchildren and she doted on them. As an avocation, she was an avid volunteer; she loved to collect recipes, cook, bake, and perform crafts with children. Mostly she loved to pass these skills on. The family is grateful for the help and support of the community and wishes to thank those who helped Judy during her lengthy illness, your care and compassion won’t be forgotten. Cremation has taken place; a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday April 2 2022 between 2 and 4 pm at her home in Oak Bay. Committal of the ashes will take place at a later date.
