It is with great sorrow that we, the family, announce the passing of Judith Ann “Judy” Hilton on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Cove Guest Home, Sydney.
Born July 25, 1941, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Madeline (Phillippo) Ponee.
Judy’s passion was cooking, baking and sewing. Upon raising her own family, Judy was a foster mom to 15 infants within nine years.
During her stay at the Cove, she enjoyed spending time with the other residents bowling and taking part in various activities. With her family, it was TV bingo and as much Yahtzee as she could get you to play.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Bernie) MacIntyre, Frenchvale, Linda Adams-Griffiths, Point Edward and Nancy (Mike), Dutch Brook; sons, Ron (Donna), Westmount, Ken, Marion Bridge and James (Lisa), Ontario; grandchildren, Christa (Aaron), Tasha (Mike), Michael, Amy, Kayla (Mark), Alisha (Jeff), Danielle, Ryan (Dawn), Bradley (Angela), Brandon and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Parker, Cole, Johnathan, Carson, Addison and Cruze; nephew, Colby Ponee, Westmount; longtime friends, Dena LeBlanc, Westmount and Marilyn Beddow, Howie Centre; and sister-in-law, Sandra Adams, North Sydney.
She was predeceased by her partner, Don Tryon and brothers, Maurice and Stephen.
The family would like to thank the VON and CCAs for their in-home visits. We would also like to thank Dr. Archibald and the staff at the Cove Guest Home who she dearly loved.
Funeral service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Doug Murphy officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Westmount.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.
