The family of Juanita Gaudet, 64, of Jewetts Mills, New Brunswick, announces her passing on Sunday, September 25th, 2022. Juanita’s tremendous strength, resiliency and generosity will be remembered by all those who knew her.
Juanita was born on April 28th, 1958, in St. Jean, Quebec, to Paul and Erna (May) Schippel. They later moved to Oromocto, New Brunswick when she was a teenager.
Soon after graduating high school, she began her long career at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Oromocto Branch. She loyally served her customers for 38 years.
In 1979, Juanita married Hardy, and went on to have two children, Alesha and Ashley. As a family they lived in Oromocto until her retirement. Juanita and Hardy built their dream home in Jewetts Mills where they were able to care for both her parents.
Juanita enjoyed camping with her family and friends and traveling. She had a creative side where she enjoyed crafting and painting. She loved painting little stone treasures that her and her grandchildren and pups would hide on her regular walks just to brighten the day of a fellow hiker.
Juanita is survived by her father, Paul Schippel; husband, Hardy Gaudet; daughters, Alesha Gaudet (Scott Rawlins), and Ashley, and grandchildren, Gavin, Gabrielle, and Hardy. She was predeceased by her mother, Erna (May) Schippel.
Juanita’s family would like to thank the staff and physicians of the oncology department at the Doctor Everett Chalmer’s Hospital for the many years of care she received. The family would also like to thank Hospice House for their kindness and care in the final days of her life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Oromocto Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29th, 2022, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm, and 6:00pm – 8:00pm, at Oromocto Funeral Home in Oromocto, New Brunswick. A private interment will take place at Oromocto Pioneer Gardens Cemetery on Friday, September 30th, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Fredericton or Ovarian Cancer Canada.
