Obituary of Joyce Bungay
It is with a heavy heart we announce that Joyce Bungay (Hollett) of Bedford, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on May 26 2022 at the QE2 Health Sciences Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Hermitage, Newfoundland on October 10, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Harriett Hollett. She is survived by her loving husband Charlie; sons, Chuck (Ronda), Sam (Karena); and grandchildren, Annika, Izak, and Marika. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Pauline Mosher (Arnie) of Fall River and Bruce Hollett (Sharon) of Hermitage, Newfoundland as well as sister-in-law, Ada Moulton (Eric) of Bedford, and brother-in-law, Bill Bungay of Corner Brook, Newfoundland; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at St. John’s Anglican church at 2187 Larry Uteck Blvd in Bedford with Reverend Randy Townsend officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday June 24 from 7 – 9 pm with the funeral following on Saturday, June 25 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican church of Bedford or a charity of choice. Thank you to the Staff at the QE2 and to her oncologist, Dr. Mary MacNeil.
