Obituary
Joyce Murray (nee Monych)
April 2, 1948 – August 26, 2022
It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Joyce and beloved Baba at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre at the age of 74.
Joyce is predeceased by her parents Harry and Helene (nee Chorney), her sisters Olga and Frances, brothers Martin, Gordon, Walter and Roy.
She is survived by her brother Nick and sister Elsie, sister-in-law Ruth, children Rhonda Murray (Dave), Ryan Murray (Kailee) and Deanna Tittlemier (Tom), her grandchildren who she loved the most: Nolan, Canyon, Kaitlin, Anthony and Rory, many nieces and nephews, and her life-long friend Mary.
Born and raised on the family farm in Berryland mom lived most of her adult life in Selkirk. While mom worked many jobs in her life she worked the longest (over 35 years) at Fresh Water Fisheries. Somehow she managed to never come home smelling like fish herself (thanks mom). Mom loved being a Baba and tending to her garden and flowers. She was strong, independent and determined. In recent years as moms health declined she needed some assistance.
Our sincerest thanks go out to Tori and the team at the Selkirk Dialysis Unit, the team at Selkirk Mobility, and the Home Care angels who work at the Knights Centre. Dr. Badenhorst, Dr. Demsas and staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk, MB, with public viewing at 1:30 p.m., services begin at 2:00 p.m. Cremation will take place following with a private interment at a later date.
