Joyce Marie
Grue – 90, Bass River,
passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 12, 2022 at Debert
Court, Debert. She was a daughter of the late James and Addie
(Hamilton) Rose.
In earlier years, Joyce was a school teacher. She was a
long-time member of Riverside United Church, Bass River, where she
sang in the choir and belonged to Fireside Unit of UCW. She was also a
member of IODE and the garden club. She enjoyed knitting and
crocheting and her family and friends will forever treasure the many
gifts she made for them over the years.
Joyce is survived by her children, Alfred (Tammy) Grue,
Margaret (Rodney) Lewter, Jamie Eldridge; grandchildren, Aaron, Bryan,
Lian, Linae, Jennifer, Jennifer, Robin; brother, Fred Rose. Along with
her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas William Grue;
son, Darrell Eldridge; sister, Carol McCabe.
Joyce’s family wishes to thank the staff of Debert
Court for the exceptional care and compassion provided during her six
years living there.
Graveside service will be held at a later date at Riverside
United Church Cemetery, 5577 Highway 2, Bass River. If so desired,
donations in Joyce’s memory to Riverside United Church are
welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private messages of
