Josie McGlynn 19532022

Josie McGlynn
1953-2022
WEST BRANCH, NB – Josie McGlynn 68, of West Branch
passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital in Moncton on
Saturday, March 19, 2022. Born in Ford Bank, she was the
daughter of the late Ernest Morton and late Agnes (Arseneault)
Morton.
Josie loved to garden and work on the farm with her brother
Cecil. She spent the spring time getting the garden planted,
then in the fall, harvesting and pickling, making jams and
jellies. She enjoyed playing cards and watching the Montreal
Canadiens hockey team and mornings drinking coffee and sharing stories
with her brother Cecil. He could always make her have a good
laugh and she loved being teased by him with his
stories.
She spent many years as a homecare worker for the elderly and
anyone else who needed help around the house. A kind, loving
and gentle lady to all and she will be missed by all who knew
her.
Josie will be sadly missed by her loving husband of almost 49
years, Bill McGlynn of West Branch; one son, Ernest McGlynn (Rebecca
Jones) of Notre Dame; her two pride and joy, grandchildren Liam and
Gavin McGlynn; also by her brother and best friend, Cecil Morton
(Heather) of West Branch; sisters, Gloria Symes (Albert) of Fords
Mills, Veronica Clark (late Clayton) of West Branch, Phyllis Hill
(Perry) of Moncton; sister-in-law, Anne Chiasson (Clifford) of
Lakeville; brother-in-law, Donnie Kay of Moncton and many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Michael
McGlynn; one sister, Linda Kay and one brother, Kenneth
Morton.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home
in Richibucto on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm (only). A
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 3:00 pm
at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in South
Branch. Interment will be held at a later date in the Zion
Presbyterian Cemetery in West Branch. Donations in
Josie’s memory may be made to the Dr. Sheldon H. Rubin
Oncology Clinic, 90 Arden Street, Moncton, NB, E1C 4B7. She
often said the nurses and doctors there were her
angels.
Arrangements are in the professional care of
Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto
(523-4252).
