Josephine Jo Nevens 1934 2022

Obituary of Josephine Nevens
Josephine Nevens, passed away on Saturday January 15th, 2022.
Jo was born to Peter and Angelina Luciani (nee Venditti) on November 15th 1934. Her parents were immigrants from Italy who settled in Thorold Ontario, where she grew up with her brothers, Pat, Tony and Carmine.
Jo married the love of her life, Tom in 1966 and they began a family with their two sons, Martin and Lucas, raising their family in St. Catharines.
She was fiercely proud of her Thorold roots and her Italian heritage, a caregiver all of her life. She proudly served for many years as a nurse at the St. Catharines General Hospital and later Thorold Medical Clinic. She volunteered at her son’s elementary schools and in and around the community. In her later years, Jo cared for her husband, Tom up until his passing in September of 2021.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving sons Martin and Lucas, her daughter in law Jessica (Braddock) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
We’re thankful for the outpouring of support and sharing of so many great memories.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 2:00PM-4:00PM.
In lieu of flowers donations are encouraged to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
Please call the funeral home (905-937-4444) to book your spot for visitation as the room capacity is limited, please have your double vaccination/ID readily available
