Age 70, Cheticamp The family of Réné Mailet is saddened to announce his passing on April 10, 2022 in Inverary Manor, Inverness after many years of declining health. Born in Cheticamp on August 3, 1951, he was the son of the late Henri and the late Marie Eva (Bourgeois) Maillet of Petit Etang, Inverness County. He is survived by his sister, Diane McNeil, Halifax; brother, Daniel Maillet (Nora Henderson), Dartmouth; a nephew and 2 nieces. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Carmelle Maillet, and twin sisters at birth.
Réné loved a good laugh and sharing time with his family and friends. He was a proud lifetime member of the Cheticamp Kinsmen Club. Although he had many life struggles, Réné has an incredibly positive attitude and formable strength and determination; he fought the good fight and can now rest in peace. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at a later date. The family is indebted to the staff at the Inverary Manor for their care of Réné since 2019.
