Joseph’s Obituary
Joseph Paul Holenski:
November 18, 1937 – December 11, 2022
Joe was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan. His mother Mary Krenosky married John Holenski and they had 4 children.
Joe was married to Patricia Baillod and they had 4 girls and one son who died at childbirth.
After high school Joe went to Ontario where his older brother Peter was, and studied at Radio and TV College. Following his graduation from College, he travelled back to Saskatchewan. He set up a radio and tv repair shop in Regina following his marriage to Patricia.
Two girls were born in Regina, and then Joe decided with Patricia they would move to Vanguard and he would begin farming again.
Joe loved the freedom of farming, there were good years and tough years but always with the love of the outdoors. His love for the outdoors extended to fishing and hunting. He liked to go fishing with his girls on Sunday after Church. With his friends, he hunted deer, elk and other game. He was a partner with other men in creating a dam and filling it with rainbow trout.
A true focus on the land and future, Joe created the Saskatchewan Farming Conservation Group with three men and it grew into hundreds. His concern for the decimation of the land, end of crop rotation and cutting of trees and shrubs mattered deeply to him. Even after not farming any longer, he drove to Regina to speak to the premier and express his concerns.
Joe’s wife Patricia passed in 2013. He is survived by his four daughters. Deborah Holenski of NewMarket, Laurie Rioux of Oklahoma, Cindy Holenski of Toronto and Sherry Holenski of Toronto.
As per Joe’s wishes there will not be a service.
Our thanks and prayers to all who were such a wonderful part of Joe’s life. Especially Mariam Nganzo, he loved and trusted you. Your care and love meant so much to him. He enjoyed a better quality of life in this last period because of you and your caregivers.

May their souls and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
