Obituary
Joseph “Joey” Brannen, 74 years of age, of Clam Point, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Roseway Hospital. Born in Clam Point, he was a son of the late Herbert and Isie Belle (Ross) Brannen.
Joey spent many hours building and painting birdhouses and keeping his workshop neat and tidy. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan. In his younger years, he liked talking on his CB radio under the name “Little Farmer”. Fall was his favorite time of year, as he spent much of his day outside raking leaves. Joey attended Sunday School at Island Gospel Tabernacle in Clam Point where he was passionate about raising money for Missions and Kids (MAK).
Joey will be sadly missed by his brothers, Enos of Clark’s Harbour, Malcolm (Cathy), Clam Point, Lewis (Lois), Clam Point, Rodney (Cindy), Barrington, Peter (Angel), Yarmouth; sisters, Lillian Nickerson, Clam Point, Christina (Cecil) O’Donnell, Clyde River, Vivian (Herbert) Brannen, Clam Point; sister in law, Augusta Brannen, Stoney Island; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, James Victor, Clarence, Dewey, Ennis, sister, Leora Bateman.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home Barrington where the family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 7 at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in the Atlantic Cemetery, Stoney Island.
