Obituary
SLATTERY,JOSEPH IGNATIUS- (JULY 31, 1931 – MARCH 9, 2022) Employer of BOART-LONGYEAR- Joe passed away peacefully at Cassellholme on March 9, 2022 at the age of 90.
He was the son of the late John and Hilda (Kelly) Slattery. Predeceased by his Sisters: Alice Smith (William-Deceased), Hilda (Babs) Stapleton (Ron-Deceased), Brothers: Br. Charlie Slattery, CFC, John (Lar) Slattery (Barbara-Deceased). Leaving to mourn are his brother Fr. Francis Slattery, his loving wife Theresa of 64 years, Daughter: Diane (Don), Sons: David (Brenda) and Larry (Barb), Grandchildren: Tracy (Joe) and Ryan, Great-Grandchildren: Jordan and Chloe.
Joe worked at Boart Longyear for over 25 years and enjoyed not only the job but the many “characters” he worked with and their lighthearted “Newfie” jokes that were thrust upon him.
Special thanks to Dr. Prins and the wonderful staff of Birch Lane for their exceptional care.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Inurnment and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the North Bay Food Bank or The Gathering Place.
