Upton, Joseph Henry, 88 of Port Maitland passed away peacefully on January 26,2022. Born in Port Hawkesbury, NS he was a son to the late William and Mary Jane (Perry) Upton. Joe was a fisherman and carpenter by trade, building their family home, but his real passion were his horses and attending Exhibitions throughout the years. He enjoyed dancing, playing instruments, especially the guitar. He was a family man and very helpful in any way he could. His grandchildren meant the world to him. He is survived by his daughters, Heather Hubley, Yarmouth; Tammy Upton, Digby; Anne (Randy) Muise, Halifax; sons, Joseph (Debbie), Springdale; Gary (Lorie), Beaver River; Mike, Halifax; best friend, Robert Smith; brother, Douglas (Frances), Yarmouth; sister, Theresa (Murray), Beaver River; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, Eva; son, Cory; son in law, Dale; siblings, Margie; Anna; John; Katherine and Rosetta. Graveside service and interment will be held at a later date and will be announced. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
