Joseph ‘Frank’ Deveau Saturday February 19th 2022

DEVEAU, Joseph “Frank” – age 90, of Nakile Home for Special Care, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 19, 2022. Born in Yarmouth on November 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Alfred and Cecelia (Robicheaud) Deveau. Frank worked his entire 42-year career at the Cosmos Imperial Cotton Mill. He was also a jack of all trades and tinkered with furnaces and lawnmowers, and according to his grandchildren “If Papa couldn’t fix it, no one can”. Frank was a boy scout leader, an avid bowler and coached baseball, enjoyed fishing at the camp and rabbit hunting. He was a proud “southender”. He always had a smile on his face. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Jane (Thompson), Nakile Home for Special Care; daughter, Kelly (Angus) Gregory, Glenwood; son, Todd Deveau, Yarmouth; his 2 grandchildren who brought a bounce to his step and a twinkle to his eyes, Marcie and Dawson Dulong; and he was “Uncle Frank “ to many. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held Wednesday, February 23, from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Proof of double vaccination will be required. Interment will take place in Chegoggin Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Yarmouth SPCA. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
