Joseph Baladi
1943-2023
Joseph Baladi died peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday January 18, 2023.
Joe was a man with a twinkle in his eye and an undying curiosity about the world around him. His greatest loves were his wife Yolande (deceased in 2018), his children Eric and Nadine (David), his granddaughters Olivia and Alexia, and his work on non-profit boards. He is lovingly remembered by the extended Baladi and Nuar families.
Joe was born in Cairo, Egypt, and after formative years in “Les Scouts” and at “Les Jesuites” where he built friendships that accompanied him through life, he received a Bachelor’s of Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Queen’s University. He spent over 25 years in executive management with Gaz Metropolitain and Hydro-Quebec, and also led his own company, consulting for the energy sector. He was athletic his whole life: he was an avid tennis player and even picked up cross-country and downhill skiing when he arrived in Canada. He spent the last 30 years of his life serving on the board of multiple non-profits such as PACHE, AAUE and NOVA West Island. He will be remembered for his generosity, his humility, and his contagious smile.

The family will receive condolences 30 minutes before the funeral service, which will be held at Paroisse Saint-Joachim in Pointe-Claire on Saturday February 11, 2023 at 11 am. Friends and Family are invited to join us after the service for a Celebration of Life at Piazza Romana, 339 Chemin du Bord-du-Lac/Lakeshore.

Joseph Baladi est décédé paisiblement entouré de sa famille le mercredi 18 janvier 2023.
Joe était un homme avec le bonheur dans les yeux et une curiosité indéfectible pour son entourage. Ses plus grands amours furent sa femme Yolande (décédée en 2018), ses enfants Eric et Nadine (David), ses petites-filles Olivia et Alexia, et son travail au sein de conseils d’administration d’organismes à but non lucratif. Les familles élargies Baladi et Nuar se souviennent aussi de lui avec amour.
Joe est né au Caire, en Égypte, et après des années d’influences au sein des «Scouts » et des «Jésuites » où il a noué des amitiés qui l’ont accompagné tout au long de la vie, il a obtenu un baccalauréat en génie chimique de l’Université McGill et un MBA de l’Université Queen’s. Il a passé plus de 25 ans à la haute direction chez Gaz Métropolitain et Hydro-Québec, et a également dirigé sa propre entreprise de consultation dans le secteur de l’énergie. Il a été sportif toute sa vie : il était un joueur de tennis passionné et a même appris le ski de fond et le ski alpin lorsqu’il est arrivé au Canada. Il a passé les 30 dernières années de sa vie à siéger au conseil d’administration de plusieurs organismes sans but lucratif tels que PACHE, AAUE et NOVA West Island. On se souviendra de lui pour sa générosité, son humilité et son sourire contagieux.

La famille recevra vos condoléances à la Paroisse St-Joachim de Pointe-Claire une demi-heure (10h30) avant le service religieux qui aura lieu le samedi 11 février 2023 à 11H00 heures. Amis et famille sont invités à se joindre à nous après la messe funéraire pour une célébration de vie à la Piazza Romana, 339 Chemin du Bord-du-Lac/Lakeshore.
