José Ramos Silveira born September 18, 1935 in Ponta Delgada, Flores (Azores) passed away suddenly on December 30, 2021. Predeceased by José (infant brother), second José (infant brother), Maria Ramos (mother), Francisco (infant brother), José Ambrosio (father), Antonio (brother) Edunio (brother), Maria (sister), Ilda (sister). José is survived by wife Maria Eduarda, daughter Sandra (David), son David (Theala Ann), grandchildren Justin, Katrina and Monaeya and his sisters Emilia, Avelina and Ines. José had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. José immigrated to New Westminster (Queensborough) in 1959 from Flores Portugal. He came from a very modest means yet forged a beautiful life for himself and his family in Canada. He had a great love for gardening and wood crafts. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Sanghera for many years of care.
Viewing will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday January 8, 2022, at Holy Spirit Church located at 244 Lawrence Street, New Westminster, British Columbia, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, Father Reynaldo Usman celebrant. Interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery located at 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, British Columbia. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Alzheimer’s Society.
