JACKSON, Jordie P. – Passed away suddenly at his home in Woodstock on Saturday September 10, 2022 in his 40th year. Beloved partner and best friend of Ashley Quinton. Dear son of Calvin Jackson and the late Beverley (nee Robertson) Jackson (2017). Loved brother of Brian Jackson and Megan Jackson. Cherished son-in-law of Robin (Stewart Twaites) Quinton, and brother-in-law of Abigail, Tiernan, and Isabelle. Nephew of Dave Robertson (Diane), John Robertson, Sherry Dorey, and James Masters (Marie). Cousin of David Thompson (Sacha), John Carson (Erika), Darren Masters (Geneviève), and Jeff Jackson. Predeceased by grandparents Dorothy and Peter Robertson and George and Barbara Jackson, uncle Donald Jackson, and aunts Marie Masters and Colleen Jackson. Jordie will also be sadly missed by his fur baby Hunter.
Jordie brought a bright light, love, and passion to everyone he met, even if just meeting for a moment. His love for music shone through his ability to play almost every instrument, every song, and his sincere willingness to teach others.
Jordie had so much knowledge about the world around him and saw the beauty in absolutely everything. He loved the outdoors, with Algonquin Park holding a special place in his heart. It was his home away from home, and he found solace in sharing it with others. His love and appreciation for nature were unparalleled, and his ability to capture it was exquisite.
There was nothing Jordie couldn’t conquer, a small or a large task. He was always up for any challenge, and truly a master of all trades.
He loved everyone. He loved making them feel welcome and celebrating them- whether that be a call to check in with all his friends, or hosting and making smoked meat for all. Or even something as simple as helping someone he had just crossed paths with.
Jordie was a one-of-a-kind human, and one that can never be summed up in words. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him, but will continue to play an important role in our hearts and souls.
Friends are welcome to join the family to honour Jordie’s life at The Movement Church, 65 Lansdowne Ave., Woodstock, on Saturday October 15, 2022, at 11:30am. Visitation to take place before the service beginning at 10:30am. Cremation has taken place. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Friends of Algonquin Park would be gratefully acknowledged and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004.
