ELSIPOGTOG, NB – John Stephen Dedam aka
“JohnJohn”, Stephen John and Dad, 84, of Elsipogtog
passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital in
Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022. Born in Elsipogtog,
he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Augustine) Dedam.
John Stephen leaves to mourn his six daughters,
Marie Sanipass-Augustine (Raymond) of Elsipogtog, Vienna Francis
(J.P.) of Main River, Jean Ann Clement (Stewart), Martha Dedam
(Maria), Mary Victoria Dedam (Darrell), all of Elsipogtog and Geni
Dedam (Stephen) of Shutesbury, Massachusetts; his son, Victor Dedam
(Shirley) of Elsipogtog; as well as his many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and his many nieces
and nephews. Also, many other friends and family members from here in
Canada and the United States of America. John
Stephen will be sadly missed by his sister, Jane Alice Dedam of
Elsipogtog and his brother, Noel Dedam of
Elsipogtog.
Besides his parents, John Stephen was predeceased by his
wife, Margaret (Sanipass); his son, Francis John; his daughter, Jane
Alice, two sisters, Eva and Susie; as well as by his three brothers,
Alfred, John Joe and Mike.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home in
Richibucto on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 from 2-4 pm (only). In
accordance with his wishes there will be no funeral service or mass,
there will be viewing, sharing stories and a send off with a drumming
ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations in
JohnJohn’s memory be made to the Elsipogtog PowWow whereas
he attended these devotedly as he did the Sundance every year.
