Obituary of John Henry Allen
Peacefully at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Tuesday March 15,2022 with his family by his side John Allen of Vankleek Hill formerly of L’Orignal passed away at the age of 76. Predeceased by his parents Percy Allen and Viva Johnston. Loving husband for over 50 years to Ruth (nee Steele). Proud and loving father of Shelley Allen-Groves (Mike), Andrew (Lisa) and Janice Hardy (Steve). Adored and fun-loving Grandpa to Dryden, Lauren, Addison, Autumn and Trent. Dearly loved brother of Maureen Cass (Cecil) and Murray Allen (Shirley). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. John will always be remembered for his gentle and warm kind hearted nature and his big smile. He loved to laugh and tell stories. John always held a special place in his heart for antique tractors, Cadillacs and especially for his beloved Yellow Labs.
Family and friends may visit at Hillcrest Funeral Home 151 Bond Street, Vankleek Hill on Saturday, March 19,2022 from 1 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 20,2022 at 2:00 pm at Cassburn United Church,1790 Cassburn Road, L’Orignal.
In memory of John a donation to the Cassburn United Church Memorial Fund 2022 Cassburn Road, L’Orignal, ON K0B 1K0 or to the CHEO Foundation 415 Smyth Road, Ottawa, ON K1H 8M8 would be appreciated by the family.
