John Aubrey Hampson 1931 2022

John Aubrey Hampson
June 12, 1931 – May 28, 2022
It is with saddened hearts, but grateful hearts for a life so well lived, that the family of John Hampson announce his passing, on May 28, 2022.
John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Joanne; his children, Bev (Craig), Greg (Amy) and Tina (Gene); his grandchildren Jason (Ally), Josline (Stephen), Joanna (Chris), Katharine (Bryan), John, Mark (Brooklyn) and Abby (Levi), along with his great grand-children Gabrielle, Nathalie, Jackson, Sofie, Kaven and Aubrey. John is also survived by his one brother, Garth Hampson.
John was predeceased by his parents, Sidney and Mae Hampson.
John worked many years in the Oil and Gas industry, and travelled to work in Saudi Arabia and the United States. He was a man who also worked to better his community, and served as President for many years with Kinsmen and the Moose Jaw Band Festival. He also loved the game of hockey and even played in the American Hockey League for a short period of time. He loved sports, especially his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The family will always treasure the work of his hands, be it playing piano or creating needle-work pictures that adorn the walls of their homes. But the greatest work of John’s hands has, and always will be, the lives of his family and friends that he has touched forever. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Van Der Merwe and the staff at Shale Medical Clinic, Drayton Valley, Alberta, as well the Doctors and nurses at Westview Hospital, Stony Plain, Alberta, for the kind and compassionate care shared with John and the family.
A celebration of John’s life will take place June 12, 2022, 12:30 pm, at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, 131 Church Road, Spruce Grove, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to kindly consider a donation to the Alberta Lung Association, 1259 91 St SW W103, Edmonton, AB T6X 1E9.

  1. I would like to say that The Creighton family new The Hampson family since 1976 . They were such great friends . They always will be . We had such great memories . Like John , my parents and I were such passionate Roughrider fans . One of the memories that I have was when John and Joanne came to my dads 65 th birthday , they brought me two bottles of wine and glasses that had the Roughrider logo on them . I have them in my Roughrider cabinet and I will always cherish that . That is what kind of people they were . Thank you John for the great memories . We love you and you will be deeply missed . Kelvin Creighton
