John William (Jack) Coleman 1945-2022
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Catharines General Hospital on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in his 77th year.
Predeceased by his best friend and loving wife Barbara “Jane” Coleman (2022). Cherished father of Susan Dryczewycz (Egan) and David Coleman (Rebecca). Devoted grandfather of Brent, Kara, Blake, and Owen. Predeceased by his sisters Judy, Margaret, and Kathy. Survived by many family members who loved him dearly including his sister Mary (Ken), brother Bob (Dana), and brothers-in-law Wayne and Schep. Devoted son-in-law to Keith Holman and brother-in-law to Peter (Cathy) and Norm (Dorothy). Jack will also be fondly remembered by his aunt Mavis and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jack tried his hand at a variety of jobs to support his family before beginning a long career working for Canada Trust as a Branch Manager. Through banking, Jack and Jane met other couples with whom they enjoyed travelling and backyard visits. In his retirement, Jack made new friends on a very special street in Welland. Jack was very appreciative of the support he received during his and Jane’s illnesses.
Driving cars between dealerships kept Jack very busy during his retirement years. He also made many trips to Book Outlet to support his hobby of reading. However, Jack’s favourite way to spend time was cheering his grandchildren on at their sporting events and school activities.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to long-time family friend Kelly and her team of nurses and personal support workers for the care and compassion Jack was given while at home.
In keeping with Jack’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Jack and Jane Coleman will be held at Royal Canadian Legion located at 141 Hwy 20 E, Fonthill, ON, L0S 1E0 from 2 PM to 5PM on Saturday July 23. It was Jack and Jane’s wishes for casual dress and sharing of stories and memories rather than tears.
