John’s Obituary
FREEMAN, John William ~ Age 92, formerly of Ward Road, Kingston, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, in Veterans Unit of Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on April 8, 1930, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Frederick and Maria (Greenlun) Freeman. John trained at the Royal Canadian School of Signals, Vimy Barracks, Kingston, Ontario. He then served with the Canadian Army during the Korean War. In later years, John had worked in the woods and time spent gardening, hunting, fishing and playing scrabble. Surviving are his children, Shirly (Arthur) Lowther; Donna (Todd) Forget, both of British Columbia; Russell (Pat) Freeman, Forest Glade; grandchildren, Tammy (Brent) and Robert (Melissa); great grandchildren, Avery, Mylah and Frank “Frankie”; brother, Lawrence (Louise) Freeman, Kingston; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by first wife, the former Marie Carey; second wife, the former Greta Veinotte; brother, Charles Freeman; sisters, Audrey Thibodeau and Margaret Magee. A graveside service will take place at a later date in North Kingston Cemetery, with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to Veterans Unit of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital or to your favourite charity.
