John William Bardeleben
(Fondly known as “Mr. B” by his students)
Passed away at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on June 3, 2022, in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Mary Taylor. Cherished father of Nicole Savage (Charles), Michael Bardeleben (Jennifer) and Corey Mason (Kathrine). Fun-loving Grandpa to Gabriel, Ethan, Ison, Samantha, Evelyn and Mia. Remembered fondly by Donna Anderson, the mother of his children. Predeceased by his parents, Gunter and Margaret Bardeleleben.
John was born in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia in 1944. He and his parents came to Canada when he was four years old. He grew up in Toronto where he honed his prankster skills before becoming an elementary school teacher in Durham Region. After teaching with a number of schools in Ajax, Pickering and Whitby, he retired in 2000. He supply taught for several years and then volunteered at Prince Albert Public School for a few years. He will always be remembered for his fun pranks and jump scares.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Oak Ridges Hospice for providing a warm and peaceful environment for both John and the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Port Perry Curling Club, 483 Bay Street in Port Perry, on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 2-4 pm. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham or the Canadian Cancer Society. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.waggfuneralhome.com
