Matte, John Wayne
John Wayne Matte (60), left us sooner than we ever expected in the early morning of May 27, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. John was born December 5, 1961 in Windsor, ON to Alpha and Gertrude Matte. He grew up with his siblings: James (Shawn) Matte, Steven Matte, Cheryl Matte, Lisa White, Diane Matte, Joseph (Bones) Matte, Julie Matte and Maryann Matte. He was the loving soul mate to Patricia Flaro for 22 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Tabitha Buttery and supportive step-father to Melissa Tuffin and Jacklyn Pannunzio. He was a proud and loving Papa to Allen (Julie) Tuffin, Mitchell Allen, Domenic Pannunzio and Julian Pannunzio. He was a millwright and local cab driver that will be remembered for his easy smile and his stories that left you chuckling. He shared his love of music with his family and friends. Most often, he could be found strumming a guitar and singing songs most haven’t heard in a long while. His signature smile and easy laugh will be surely missed. John would want all his family and friends to come together and share memories and stories of your time with him. All are welcome to attend his funeral visitation on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) from 1pm-3pm.
