JOHN VICTOR IGNACE

JOHN VICTOR IGNACE 1946 — 2022

JOHN VICTOR IGNACE
1946 — 2022
John was born in Kamloops, BC on June 11th, 1946 to Lucy Paul Ignace and was a member of the Adams Lake Indian band.
To many of his buddies, John was known as “Victor”. John played baseball with the Chase Chief’s and was a great pitcher, with a submarine style pitch. He was a handyman who fixed everything, and even speed sewed his clothes. John lived in Kelowna, BC for many years where he worked in the apple orchards for the Marshall’s. He also worked in the states in forestry, during his younger years.
John went to residential school in Kamloops, BC for many years and was traumatized. He never talked about the time he was there. As a result of what he went through, he had to battle the demons from the residential school, and drifted away from everyone.
Victor John Ignace kept in touch with his residential school buddy like late Frank Manual, late Kenny Saul, Wilfred Tomma, Ronny Jules and David Jules.
John stayed away from Chase, unless he came home for funerals. John leaves behind his only brother Lenard, aunties, nieces and nephews. John joins his mother Lucy Paul Ignace and his three sisters Rosalie, Linda, Brenda, uncle Tommy, uncle Jones, many cousins, aunties, uncles, niece and nephews, in the spirit world.
John had the gift of the gab and talked to everyone. He was a reader, owned and gave away many books. He was a very clean and organized person who kept everything in order.
Johnny Victor Ignace you will be sadly missed by so many, especially your brother Lenard.
