BAKER, John Royden –
John Royden Baker entered into rest on Friday, September 9th, 2022, in his 87th year at the Richmond Retirement Residence, formerly of Roslin. He was the son of the late Norman and Georgia Baker. Beloved husband to the late Joan Bernice Baker who were married for 64 years prior to her passing in 2020. Royden was the loving father of Beth Baker of Woodstock, Shelley Upton (Ken) of Ayr, and Kirk Baker (Louise) of Roslin. Royden was the beloved grandfather of Laura Gawne, Jordan Upton, Sara Forder and Nathan Baker. He will be fondly missed by his 5 great grandchildren. Royden is survived by his brother Dale Baker (Linda) of Oshawa, sister Mary Lynn Ridder (Jacob) of Trenton, and brother Jeff Baker (Heather) of Campbellford. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Neil Baker (Marnie), Rodger Baker, Perry Baker, Lee Baker, Ellen Baker, Lynda Lou Robson and James Baker (Joanne). Royden will also be fondly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. Lynch for her compassionate care during Dad’s final years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588). Visitations will be held on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the chapel Thursday, September 15th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Interment at Victoria Cemetery, Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family.
