John Romig Thursday January 13th 2022

ROMIG, John Stewart – Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Thursday, January 13, 2022. John late of Peterborough, formerly of Toronto, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of Gweneth (nee Cooper) for 66 years. Loving father of Susan Gwilliam (Percy), Peggy Harder (John), and Paul Romig (Linda). Dear grandfather of Christine Bradley (Curtis), Scott Gwilliam (Taylor), Stephanie Mount (Jacob), Mitchell Harder (Kenzie), Andrew Romig (Cassidy), and Ryan Romig (Taylor). Proud great grandfather of Colton and Caelyn Bradley, Olivia and Liam Mount, and Charlie and Violet Gwilliam. Son of the late John and Kay Romig. Dear brother of the late Muriel Dawson (late Walter). John will be remembered by many other relatives and friends. Retired Machinist from Outboard Marine, where he proudly worked for over 30 years. John was a ‘Mr. Fix-It’ who could fix or build anything from radios and small engines to cars. He was usually found in his workshop if you stopped in to visit. He was an avid reader who would read everything from westerns and suspense novels to auto reviews and owners manuals. A family graveside service was held at Little Lake Cemetery, Peterborough. Donations, if desired, to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca Special thanks to the staff at Pleasant Meadow Manor. Dad really got a kick out of all of you!
