It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Robert Jessome, Age 53, of the Breton Ability Centre, Sydney, on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
Born in North Sydney on May 10, 1969, Robert was the son of Sidney and Catherine “Kitty” (Stamper) Jessome.
Robert loved to look at books and magazines with lots of photos. He always looked forward to his weekly visits with his parents and was always seen holding and playing with a shoe lace. He was a resident of the Pine Ridge neighborhood and lived at Breton Ability since 1995. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or.
Left to mourn are his parents, aunts Anna O’Neil, Theresa Campbell, Cecilia (Michael) Bishop, Johnena MacDonald, Marlene (Joe) Kennedy, Priscilla Lemoine and Sheila Daria; uncle Blair Stamper, and many cousins.
Robert was predeceased by his only sibling, brother William Terrance; uncle’s Jimmy, Johnny and Alex Stamper, and Ronnie Jessome; aunts Jean MacIntyre, Sally Currie, Noel Stamper and Linda Mott.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday November 15, 2022, at St. Joseph Church, Church Road, Bras d’Or, with Rev. Nonso Alaribe officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
