John Robert Hawley 19362022

John Robert Hawley
1936-2022
John Hawley of Riverview passed away peacefully February 16,
2022 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in London, Ontario, he was the son
of the late Andrew and Eva Hawley.
John served in the RCAF for 25 years. He retired in
1999 from Midland Transport. He was an active member of the
Moncton Fish and Game Association and the Atlantic Salmon
Federation. He also played a major role in the restoration
of Mill Creek in Riverview.
John admired nature and wildlife with great respect. He could
find a peace in the ordinary world that not many seem to find. Often
sitting in the backyard, watching the world go by and simply enjoying
the moment. He was an avid fisherman, and especially loved salmon
fishing on the Miramichi with his buddy Mark. He was exceptionally
skilled at wood carving and tying flies.
John was stoic, generous and very wise. He was a
devoted, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved
travelling with his soul mate Merilyn.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Merilyn of 37
years, daughters Lee Ann, Debi, and Lyn (Joe), sons Robert (Heidi) and
Gordon (Claudia), sister Joan, several grandchildren, and great
grandchildren.
John was predeceased by twin brothers Richard and Robert and
daughter Jayne.
John has left this world to join God in heaven, He is the
only One who knows how much we will miss him.
A private service will be held for immediate
family.
Donations to a charity of donor’s choice will be
appreciated.
