Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Reginald Barnes announce his passing at Western Long Term, Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, July 30th, 2022 at the age of 68 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 48 years: Wanda Barnes; children: Martin (Charlene), Trina (Todd), and Charlie (Serena); grandchildren: Zachary (Tori), Ryan, Lilly (Christopher), Hannah, and Chloe; siblings: Loretta, Harold (Bernice), Elaine (Taylor), Monica (Harrison), Darlene (Murray), Michael (Lawrence), and Charlotte (Bradley); mother-in-law: Shirley Payne; sisters-in-law: Alvina (Max), Marina (Rod), Yvonne (Ron), Emily (Jason), Winnifred (Oscar), and Nancy (Ramsey); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
John was predeceased by his mother: Martha Barnes (2011); father: Reginald Barnes (1963); sister: Rowena Morgan (2008); brother: Kevin Barnes (1992); father-in-law: Cyril Payne (2009); and nephew: Benjamin Gillingham (2022).
Visitation is scheduled to take place at St. Nicholas Anglican church, Cox’s Cove, on Monday, August 1st, 2022, and Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022 from the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will take place at St. Nicholas Anglican church, Cox’s Cove, on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
There will be no flowers by request. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in John’s memory, may do so to a charity of one’s choice.
