Obituary for John Ravenhorst
John Ravenhorst, of Petrolia, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, in his 94th year. Born in the Netherlands, immigrated to Canada 1951. John is survived by his wife of 69 years Frances (nee Van Leeuwen). He was the father of Ann and Larry Salts, Cheska and Rick Duncan, Harry and Joan Ravenhorst, Carolyn and Mike Mahar, John and Nancy Ravenhorst, Jodie Ravenhorst, grandfather to numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. John is survived by his sister Greetje vanDerWeide of the Netherlands. John was predeceased by his daughter Jane Scholte, his granddaughter Lisa Salts-Nickels, and by brothers Jacob, Willem, Welmer, Jan, Harm, and Jan Hendrick. John served with the Dutch Army in Indonesia from 1948 to 1950.
