John C. Pinhorn – November 2, 1921 to November 28, 2022
John C. Pinhorn of Winterton, NL, World War II Veteran, 166th Royal Artillery Regiment, passed peacefully away at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion in Carbonear, in the early morning hours of November 28, 2022, at the age of 101 years.
Predeceased by his Wife, Elizabeth Pinhorn (nee Downey), Son’s Donald Pinhorn and Alexander Pinhorn and Daughter-in-law Nellie Pinhorn (nee Bryant).
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories Grandson, Alex Pinhorn (Wanda) and Granddaughter, Adella Green (Roger) both of Winterton. Grandson, Don Pinhorn (Liz), Alberta, and Grandson, Jim Pinhorn (Beverly), Gander. Great-grandchildren, Leah Pinhorn, Lauren and Bradley Green, Stephan and Pam McKay, Alex and Robert Pinhorn and Ryan and Sarah Pinhorn. Daughter-in-law Donna Pinhorn, of Carbonear, special niece, Rhoda Hedd of Winterton and nephews, Randy Pinhorn, of Heart’s Delight and Ernest Walker, of Winterton, along with all his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
At this time the family of John C. Pinhorn would like to say a heartfelt thanks to the staff of 2 North, at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion for taking such amazing care of our Pop and who’ve become a second family to us all.
Resting at Green’s Funeral Home, Winterton. Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 29 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Heart’s Content, Wednesday, November 30 at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery in Winterton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to St. Luke’s Cemetery Fund, Winterton.
