Pettit- Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Bluewater Health- Palliative Care Unit, Sarnia on Thursday March 17, 2022. John Edward Pettit, age 80 years of Corunna. Loving husband of 59 years to Anne. Much loved father of Kim Nethery (Zeek) of Blenheim, John Pettit of Courtright and Bob Pettit (Karen Hutchins) of Sarnia. Cherished grandfather of Corey, Randy, Trevor, Taylor, Christine and Devin and great-grandfather of Maverick, Mya, Luxley and soon to be Ava. John is also survived by; his sisters-in-law, Betty Cataldo of St. Clair, Michigan, Jean Beckstead of Texas and Peggy Anderson (Dougie) of Scotland and by his niece and nephew, Laurie and Brad. He was predeceased by his grandson Kyle (2020) and by his sister, Rose LaBrash. John retired from Imperial Oil after many years of service. Some of his passions included working on cars and boats and spending time at the river with his dogs. A private family service was held at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Monday March 21, 2022 with Rev. Deanna Gibson officiating. Interment followed in Sutherland Cemetery, Courtright. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Sarnia and district Humane Society.
