Obituary for John Paul Bandorf
November 14, 1928 – April 28, 2022
John Paul Bandorf passed away peacefully on April 28, 2022 at the age of 93 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, with his son by his side.
Born in Arnstadt, Germany, John was the only child. He was the beloved husband of Anneliese for 67 years who passed away in December 2021. John was the cherished father of Peter (Linda) and Karen (Chris), proud grandfather to Robert (Kara), Kristen (Michael), Carlyn (Johnathan) and Teigan, great grandfather to Everett, Ayden, Mayson, Philip, Patrick and Emerson, and Uncle to Michael (Heike).
John immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1953, and was joined by Anneliese in 1954. John loved the outdoors and was always looking for something to build. His love for flying became a reality when he became a member of the Winnipeg Gliding Club and ultimately built his own glider in 1976. In the early 1980’s, John designed and built the family cottage in Gimli, Manitoba.
John was a wonderful husband and father. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends and his memories will live on in all of us.
John most recently resided at Palermo Village Retirement Residence in Oakville, Ontario. John’s request to be cremated without an attending service will be honoured, and a Burial at Sea will take place in the future with the family.
