John Michael Joseph Hinchey, born on February 10th, 1953, passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on February 25th, 2022, at the age of 69.
Predeceased by father, Morgan Hinchey (2019); brother, Patrick Hinchey (2021); and father-in-law, Frank Stack (2000). Left to mourn are his wife, Krista Stack Hinchey and daughters Kiley (Ethan Cottrell) and Lauren Hinchey; sisters Carol (David Harnum), Anne (Rex Woodford), and Mary Hinchey; Mother, Margaret Ducey Hinchey and mother-in-law, Eileen Kieley Stack; along with niece, Rebecca Woodford (Jordan Dyke) and nephews Andy (Valerie Griffiths) and Aaron Woodford; and great-niece Abigaile Murphy Woodford and great-nephews George and Roman Dyke. Also left to mourn are his many special and lifelong friends.
John was an exceptional man who touched the lives of so many people. He was always there for the people he loved and put others’ needs before his own. He was known for his sense of humour and witty comebacks, as well as his love for reading and going for walks. He was a devoted father and husband, and loved his dog, Lulu, very much. John was extremely intelligent; he always knew what to do and made the impossible possible. His absence is huge, and he will be greatly missed.
