John LeRoy Townsend February 15 1943 November 15 2022

Obituary
TOWNSEND, John LeRoy – 79 of Lockeport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 15, 2022 at Roseway Hospital in Shelburne. Born on February 15, 1943 in Lockeport, he was the only child of the late LeRoy and Margenie (Langille) Townsend.
In his younger years, John fished on many boats both off-shore and in-shore. He also worked at Stoddard’s Fishery in Pleasant Point, National Sea and Clearwater until his retirement. John enjoyed fishing and deer hunting in Canada Hill – his favourite place on earth. He looked forward to spending the summer and fall months at his camp there.
He is survived by many cousins and close friends. He always enjoyed having a conversation and had a hearty, jolly laugh.
John especially loved nature in all its splendor; the birds, the flowers, trees, brooks and changing seasons.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A funeral service will take place from the Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 27 Spruce St. in Lockeport on Tuesday November 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Donations in memory of John can be made to the Lockeport First Responders. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.huskilson.net
