Obituary
A much-loved father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and precious friend, John/JP has left this mortal earth on February 28th, 2022, off to play a few rounds beyond the 19th hole. JP had three big loves – his daughter Jonelle, cold beer, and the game of golf.
Born John Patrick in London, Ontario on January 22, 1960, he was the middle child of Frank and Theresa (nee Doyle) LeFrank.
John’s father Frank, his stepmom Bonnie, and his siblings Michael, Deborah, Dan, and Michelle, and their families are mourning his death though we are sure he is up there having a good chat with his Mother Theresa.
JP’s daughter Jonelle West, her husband Brennan, and his grand-daughter Estelle hold their love for JP from Nova Scotia, a place where as a young boy he would go annually with his family.
For over 15 years, JP’s work ethic was on display at the Western Canada Wilderness Committee where he ran the print shop and newsletter distribution. His large family of friends from that community is led by Sue Fox, his chosen sister and dear friend. Donations in his honour can be made to the Wilderness Committee’s Ancient Forests fund.
JP also deeply loved the village of Yelapa in Mexico where he recently enjoyed the sunshine, cold beer, tequila, and friendships that he had nurtured over many years.
To say that JP was obsessed with the game of golf is a bit of an understatement. A skilled player, he nurtured many young golfers with his passion for the game. He was extremely proud for many years to have a golf course in his own backyard. The ‘organic’ course was the venue for the annual Mr. Mulyak golf tournament, a highly anticipated and hilarious event. Check out MrMulyak1 on YouTube for a blast of JP humour.
Living life on his own terms was a theme in JP’s life and he would most definitely encourage you to do the same. We look forward to hosting a celebration of life in the coming months on the Sunshine Coast and in London, Ontario. Please do raise a glass to JP, play a round of golf, and hold him in your hearts.
