In Celebration of
John-John Laxa
October 8, 1975 –
November 14, 2022
John-John passed away unexpectedly at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga on Monday, November 14, 2022, with the love of his life (and partner in weirdness), Katherine, by his side.
Born in Montreal to devoted parents Bernie and Lulu (Bacani), John-John accomplished much in his 47 years on Earth.
He was a proud alumnus of McGill University (BEng, 2000) and Clemson University (MEng, 2019), and a well-respected member of the Risk Engineering professional community.
He was also a chili connoisseur, expert teller of dad jokes, family Halloween costume devotee, serious contender for the title of Habs’ Biggest Fan, and unabashed advocate of Crocs.
But without a doubt, John-John’s greatest accomplishment was the impact he made in the lives of so many people. He was smart, kind, generous, funny, and had a smile that could light up any room.
He was the World’s Best Daddy to Eli, Wyn, Nora, and Ary, as well as his fur kid Murphy; a loving (if at times pesky) little bro to sister Jane; and a devoted uncle to nieces Xhalia and Roxy. He will be missed immeasurably by the people who were lucky enough to love him during his life.
John-John’s family has chosen a small, private service and interment. But in recognition of the many people whose lives John-John touched, Katherine would like to invite those interested to send favourite memories, anecdotes and photos of John-John to Remembering.JohnJohn@gmail.com, so she can turn them into a keepsake book for their children.
