Willett, John David Watson (J.D., Dave)
Born September 28, 1957 in Chapleau, Ontario. Passed away peacefully with Marilyn by his side on August 25, 2022 at Erie Shores Hospice. Loving husband of Marilyn. Son of the late George and Ila Willett. Dear brother of Cynthia (late Rick) of Windsor, Sanda (John) of London, Debra of Vancouver Island. Much loved uncle of Rick (Samantha), Debbie (Dave), Sherry (Jim), Cary (Heather), Heather (Steve), Claire (Jason), Laura (Byron). Brother in law of late Barbara and Harry Campbell, Paul and Sandra Sales. J.D. served with 3 RCR in Germany during the Cold War. He was proud to serve in the Honour Guard for Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Winnipeg in 1984. J.D. was a former Executive member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 Kingsville and former Zone A2 Parade Commander. He was a former member of the Naval Association Firing Party, former flag bearer for the Sun Parlour Pipes and Drums. He was always a gracious host for family and friends. Visitation at Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Avenue East, Es on Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 188 service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate J.D.’s life on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Salvation Army or Erie Shores Hospice would be appreciated. Share words of comfort at www.reidfuneralhome.ca
