John Jack Walter Ball 2022

Obituary
John (Jack) Walter BALL
November 26, 1926 – January 11, 2022
It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of John Walter Ball, at the age of 95, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. Jack was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Ball. He will be dearly missed by his son Dr. John P. Ball of Umea Sweden, and his daughter Barbara (Bill) Coon of Huntsville. Jack absolutely cherished his time with his grandchildren, Brett (Kelli) Coon and Meghan (Benjamin) van der Staay, and this summer was delighted to meet his great-grandson Mason Coon.
Jack was born and raised in Chatham, Ontario and went on to graduate from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto in 1952. When he and Shirley married, they moved to Aylmer, Ontario where Jack built a respected 48-year career as a pharmacist at his own business, John Ball Pharmacy Ltd. and then at Big V Pharmacy. In 2005, Jack and Shirley moved to Huntsville to be closer to their family. He will be remembered as a true gentleman, with a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh.
The family would like to acknowledge the dedication of the doctors and nurses at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital, and also the staff at Traditions of Muskoka Retirement Residence.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Algonquin Grace Hospice, if desired. Alternatively, “Grandpa” as he was known by everyone, would appreciate the planting of a tree in his memory.
Post Covid, a celebration of Jack’s life will be held.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of John Jack Walter Ball 2022..
