The death of John “Jack” Eugene MacTavish husband of the late Renee “Dolly” MacTavish of South Nelson, NB, occurred on Friday, November 18, 2022, at his residence at the age of 74. Jack was the son of the late John and Mona (Porter) MacTavish. Jack retired from UPM after 35 years as an Electrician. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and his daily visits with Ned and Betty. Whenever someone was in need of help Jack was the person they could count on.
Jack is survived by daughter: Cathy Vickery (Troy) of Chatham Head, NB; son: David (Charlene O’Donnell) of South Nelson, NB; granddaughters: Lauren MacTavish, Morgan Vickery (Rene Mersereau), Emily Vickery, Drew MacTavish, and Kayley Vickery; sisters: Elizabeth “Betty” Corcoran (Ned) of South Nelson, NB; Jeanie Fogarty (Marc) of Nelson, NB; sister-in-law: Mary MacTavish of Douglastown, NB; brother: Garry MacTavish (Carmel) of Nelson, NB.
Besides his parents and wife: Dolly, Jack is predeceased by sisters: Anna Gallant (Mike) and Faye Saunders (Raymond) and brother: Blair MacTavish.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 2 PM with Rev. Thomas Nisbett officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery, Chelmsford, NB.
