Cameron, John “Jack”,
age 69, Caledonia Mills, Antigonish County passed away peacefully June
22, 2022, surrounded by family.
Born in Antigonish he was the son of the late John Alexander
and Mary Anna (MacDonald) Cameron.
Dad enjoyed the simple things in life, a good cup of tea,
playing crib, going for drives and most of all spending time with his
family and his beloved grandsons.
Early on Dad found his love for driving, which lead to 47
years on the road. He was proud of his career and was one of the lucky
ones who truly loved his job. He made many friends in his years of
trucking, and even more memories. Memories that turned into stories
– and an avid storyteller he was! Those who were fortunate
enough to sit around his kitchen table were always in for a real treat
– reminiscing about days gone by and belly laughs so big you
were sore by the end of it.
One of Dad’s favorite jobs was being a Papa. He lit
up when his grandchildren were around. He loved some friendly
competition – board games and a good game of crib (but with
Dad it was never about who was winning, but about who was
cheating!).Of course we can’t talk about the things Dad
enjoyed in life without mentioning the bond he had with his dogs, Sam
and Max. They were the best of friends, and Dad couldn’t go
anywhere without them.
He was a rock to those around him. A safe haven. A place
where the tea was always on, and an ear was ready to listen. He will
be greatly missed by his wife Patricia “Patsy” (Shaw);
children: Colleen (Sandy) Richard, Charlos Cove; John Cameron,
Halifax; Florence (Kyle) Sponagle, Guysborough Intervale; Jacob
(Ashleigh) Cameron, Antigonish; grandchildren, Lucas, Alexander, and
Cameron; brother: Donald (Donna), Dartmouth; sisters: Isabel (Archie)
Chisholm, Guysborough Intervale; Mary (Stephen) Williams, Guysborough;
Deborah Cameron, Halifax, and special sister Catherine Mae (Ed Kehoe),
D’Escousse, and many nieces and
nephews.
