Obituary
After a courageous battle with cancer John Harry Bowler rejoined his beloved wife of 51 years, Diane (2012), in the presence of the Lord on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in his 82nd year. John was predeceased by his parents Harry and Patricia Bowler. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Gail Schellenberg (John), son Mark Bowler (Lori). Proud Papa of Jaynie, Hope (d), Joyclyn, Camryn, Joel (d), Tyler (Rachelle), Danyelle (Brandon), Brayden, and great grandsons Kaine and Braxton. Survived by his sister Ellen (Al) Currie. John and Diane, Ellen and Al shared a close and special relationship over the years.
John will be missed by many dear friends and extended family.
John worked as a transportation analyst at Stelco for many years.
John’s favourite pastime when he wasn’t working included many talents, carving, painting and spending time at the family cottage that he built from the ground up in Pike Bay. John enjoyed travelling and visiting friends and family all over Canada and the US in his roadtrek.
The family would like to thank the Lisaard House in Cambridge for caring for Dad during his final days.
According to his wishes there will be no service or visitation, cremation has taken place and a private internment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Lisaard House, Cambridge in John’s memory.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28
