Passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 27, 2022 at Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus at 72 years old. Cherished husband and best friend of Mary Beth (née Murphy). Loving and proud father to Jason Pettypiece (Lisa), Barb Ots (Kirk), Christine Lesperance (Jason), and Therese Vander Doelen (Shaun). Son of the late John “Jack” and Margaret Charbonneau. Brother to Anne Hewton (Murray), Yvonne Fortin (Real), Jackie Charbonneau (Bruce Plante), Joe Charbonneau (Carmen) and the late Marie Colautti (Jim). John was the proud grandpa to 8 grandkids and 4 great-grandkids. John was a stationary engineer at Ford Motor Company Es Engine Plant until he retired November 1, 2015. John loved motor racing and attended Jim Russell Racing School in England. He enjoyed racing at Mosport in Ontario and Waterford Hills Road Racing. Formula 1, the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings were his favourite. John lived with MS for over 25 years and faced many challenges.

Visiting on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841. According to John’s wishes there will be no formal service, cremation to follow.
