Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the age of 73 years at Pleasant View Towers, on Sunday, August 21, 2022 with his loving family by his side, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Predeceased by his parents: Lawrence and Ruth Chaytor and his parents-in-law: Ronald and Rita Rose.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Debbie (nee Rose), his precious children and grandchildren: John and Jacquie (Travis and Zachary), and Terry and Angie (Reese), all whom were the loves of his life; loving brother: Dave (Lorraine – deceased); brother-in-law: Ron (Judy -deceased); sisters-in-law: Dianne (Selby) Penney and Lori (Pat) O’Keefe; his beautiful nieces, nephews, so many special friends and family, especially life long friends Garland and Peggy Newhook.
Gary loved life and having people close by meant everything to him.
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Porter, Dr. Dalton and the amazing staff from Pleasant View Towers 1South West who treated both Gary and Debbie with so much love, respect and compassion. We will forever be grateful. We would also like to thank Tina and Brian for their endless compassion for Gary in his final hours.
At Gary’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral home 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mount Pearl on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 2:00 -4:00 and 6:00 -9:00 pm. A Celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 11:00 am from Barrett’s Mount Pearl Chapel.
The Chayor kindly requests masks be worn to attended the visitation and funeral service.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Gary’s memory to The Children’s Wish Foundation or the S.P.C.A.
